We are serving this industry since last 35 years. We started exporting since 2007 and since then we have presence in 37 countries. Off late we were not able to tap the market of Malawi despite having strong presence in neighboring countries like Mozambique, Tanzania, Botswana, etc.
Then we had an inquiry for a 20-30 tph and 40-60 tph mobile drum mix plant from Malawi. Their basic requirement was 30 tph. Initially we spent a lot of time with the customer finalizing what will be the best configuration for them. We did a lot of study on their marshal mix design which they had to make the road. It was very important to understand the details and then propose a machine to the customer which will help them complete their job on time. They were reluctant to go for a bigger 40-60 tph plant but since the moisture content in aggregates is high I cautioned them about how the plant could give lower production. This made them go for a higher machine as they ultimately had to finish a project on time.
After few weeks of discussion and exchanging emails and phone calls they were convinced and deposited advance payment which would enable us to immediately start working on the order. After few days customer paid visit to our factory to inspect their machine.
During their visit we got to meet the customer in person and also understand their site in details. We sat down and took a note of their site area where they intended to install the mobile drum mixer. We also understood the truck in and out position, the position where they already have a cabin built in. It really helped both of us as we could manage the location of the components as per the customers requirement. They got to know the details of the components in details and then we gave them their final copy of the layout.
Asphalt plant operator
We also discussed the possibility of sending asphalt plant operator from India to help them in running the plant for at least 6 months. We agreed that we will help them with the same. After few days we selected two technicians for them. Their passport and other details were sent on email and after negotiation of the salary the customer was ready with them. Their visas were processed and they were almost ready to leave for Malawi few days before the plant would reach Malawi. The installation for the plant was done by them on time and also
Atlas Mobile Drum Mix Plant Configuration:
The mobile drum mix plant was a bit customized by the customer to suit their needs. Cold feeder bins are 4 with total capacity of 32 tons on one chassis. Drying drum and wet scrubber on one chassis. Standard machine comes with bitumen tank of capacity 15 tons. This plant was equipped with a bigger sized tank of capacity 30 tons. This bitumen tank is on single chassis. Mineral filler, fuel tank and control cabin are on one chassis along with some space for loose parts. Some fast moving spare parts were provided with the plant to make things easy for customer. We also marked the plants top view into the customers site layout to make it easy and convenient for them.
Atlas On time completion of the project
The customers project was completed on time with the help of the two technicians that flew from India to run the plant. They were constantly on their toes to ensure that everything runs smoothly. We were also in touch with the customer from India as and when required. The plant delivered and lived up to the expectations. After few months when the project was over the customer ordered another 30 tons bitumen tank from Atlas to be fitted near the existing bitumen tank. They ordered additional spare parts to keep with the plant for future requirement.
